Patrick Dursent was an Architect but he decided in 2013 to handle the pencils to be a winmaker, and so he did openning his own estate: Domaine de l’Architecte.
Located in Rousillon, South part of France , in the specific area of « Les Aspres », the hillswineyard between the mountains and the mediterranean sea produce some exclusive white and red wines in a respectful environnemental farming (HVE certified).
The handpicking harvest is a very selective way to produce in small yeld (15 to 20 hectolitres/hectare). This low process alows a better quality and is followed by a tank or amphora storage for quite a year between bottling.
Well rated in Hachette, Bettane , Parker and wine Enthusiast guides Domaine de l’Architecte increase his exposure on the beautifful and « Michelin star » tables. Our sells in the USA and Japan confirm the high quality of our wines and make the estate a very appreciated Roussillon ambassador.
Aux Amandiers
IGP Côtes Catalanes – Red
Terroir: Clayey limestone in stony hillsides
Varietal: 100% Carignan
Winemaking: Entirely harvested by hand, as all the estate's wines, the cuvee "Aux Amandiers" reflects the delicacy of the landscape and this
particularly subtle variety. The almond tree blossom followed by the
beautiful fruits, the plots of old Carignan vines entirely hand-picked,
produce one of the finest wines of the area.
After a cold pre-fermentation of a few days we continue with a fairly
short maceration to preserve all the aromas of berries (currant,
raspberry and blackcurrant). The wine is then aged in vats a few
months before bottling.
Sustainable Farming (not certified)
Tasting: a 100% Carignan with suppleness on small red fruits,
raspberry, red currant, wild strawberry, an "elegant" wine according
to my agricultural advisor!
Drinking moment: Ready to drink or to keep for 3 - 5 years. Best served between 17 and 18°C (65° and 68°F)
Food pairing: Among lamb chops and Provencal tomatoes, thyme lamb with
beans, roast guinea fowl, duck with turnips ... the ideas are endless!
