In 1899, Alexis Davault bought a part of the vineyard of the Prieuré de la Chaise whose origin dates back to the 10th century. His son Eugène enlarged the vineyard and was succeeded by Maurice, Jean-Pierre, Christophe and Quentin.

 

Since 1980, 45 hectares of vines have been purchased or replanted, bringing the area of Domaine de la Chaise to 57 hectares of vines classified in AOC Touraine. Their love of this vineyard and investments made in the cellar allow them today to offer you their best wines. Whether accompanying a meal or just for tasting, these wines will surely seduce you!

The « TOURAINE TRADITION » of DOMAINE DE LA CHAISE is a blend of the best assembly vintages Côt and Cabernet .

This special vintage will give us a well balanced wine, with a good structure in mouth which will make according to years a wine of guard.

Degustation: A nice bright color and red black. Nose of red berries, black fruits and blackcurrant. The mouth immediately round and fleshy offers a powerful, ample and warm structure. Tannins, presents are melted well and the bouquets of ripe grapes persist mouth there. 

 

Magnificent Touraine fruity, structured and generous.

 

It can kept from 5 to 6 years.

TOURAINE BLANC A.O.C. « CLOS DES ROUSSETTES » Sauvignon white grape DOMAINE DE LA CHAISE was harvested in St Georges-sur-Cher, capital of the A.O.C. TOURAINE, on a plot of land bearing the same name and on argilo-calcareous grounds.

After a pneumatic pressing, musts are placed in tank during 24 hours. We take away then by taking care of pulling only the clear juice. Muds will be afterward filtered and assembled. The alcoholic fermentation (F.A.) lasted 3 weeks in a temperature of 15 C°. A racking was raised on fine dregs until the bottling.

Tasting notes: Beautiful yellow color brillant dress golden. The noze of this Sauvignon offers aromas of exotic fruits, pineapple, passion fruit and white fruits. The mouth is round in attack with the volume and on acidity balanced well. Perfectly agrees whith fishes, with seafoods, with goat cheese and also in aperitif.

Residual sugar: 2 g/ liter
