Les Vignerons Ardéchois, pioneering the renewal of Ardèche vineyard. A new generation focusing on quality since 1967.

In the early twentieth century, a handful of farmers started to join forces.
In 1967, the Vignerons Ardéchois built together their first winery, a shared facility where efficiency and solidarity were working hand in hand. A complete redeployment of the vineyard was conducted : both international and indigenous grape varieties were planted on their respective matching soils so we can respect the expression of our terroirs.

Today, Les Vignerons Ardéchois is a pool of 1 500 farmers with 12 wineries spread out on our 4 Ardèche Terroirs : Sandstone, Basalt, Gravette (calcareous clay), Pebble. We grow with passion  6 500 hectares of vineyards, including 500 Ha of parcel selections. This represents 85% of Southern Ardèche wine production.

Distributed in nearly 1 000 independent wine shops in France and over 40 countries around the world, our wines enjoy a growing reputation.

With a full control from our vineyard to your glass, The Vignerons Ardéchois is regarded as a success model in the French wine industry.

Fonvène

Ardèche

Protected Geographical Indication

Red

Terroir: The vineyard is located in Southern Ardèche. Our Merlot and Grenache plots are grown on chalky clay soil with a fraction of sandstone. The area enjoys a Mediterranean climate. The influence of the Mistral dries out the vineyard, cools down summer nights and offers perfect viticulture conditions.

Grape varieties: Merlot / Grenache blend.

Winemaking: This wine is made traditionally: the grapes are destemmed, crushed and the juice undergoes a fermentation at a controlled temperature between 24°C and 26°C.

Tasting notes: Fonvène red offers a bright ruby red color. It displays fruity aromas of red berries and a smooth structure.

Drinking tips: Enjoy it with cold cuts or grilled vegetables. Best served at 16°C / 64°F

Ageing potential: 2 to 3 years.

Gris d'Ardèche

Indication Géographique Protégée

White

Terroir: The vineyard is located in Southern Ardeche, right bank of the Rhône River, in the villages of Valvignères and Beaulieu. The fruit is from our parcel selections, grown on rocky and clay-limestone foothills.

Grape variety: Grenache 100%.

Winemaking: The harvest is done early September, during the coolest hours at dawn so we can preserve plenty of fresh aromas. This wine is a 100% free-run juice cuvee, we don’t use the press juice. Cold maceration in temperature-controlled stainless steel.

Tasting notes: A delicate pale salmon pink colour. Very elegant nose that displays citrus (grapefruit), anise and fresh peach aromas. The mouthfeel is full of fresh, “crunchy” fruits and very lively.

Drinking tips: Perfect companion in aperitif, and ideal paired with light summer food (mixed salads, stuffed mediterranean vegetables). Best served at 12°C, within two to three years.
